In the spring of 2020, a group of TIGN women casually got together to discuss ways in which women could elevate their voices and play greater roles in all aspects of TIGN. What resulted was the formation of a women’s group named GOLDA – named for Golda Meir, who embodied the qualities sought after in the newly formed group – courage, vision, and leadership.
GOLDA’s mission is to host social and professional networking events, to build an inclusive and diverse community of women, and to foster leadership roles at Temple Israel. In an effort to attract many different types of members to its events, GOLDA’s programming strives to be innovative, creative, engaging and diverse.
Recent events include an Israeli wine tasting, a workshop for women to learn how to make their voices heard, a celebrity chef cooking night, a discussion with AIPAC about US-Israel relations, a virtual game night, and a workshop to learn how to elevate one’s virtual presence.
