Connie Reichman has been part of the Temple Israel community for more than 16 years and has taught at all three congregational schools. She holds an M.A. in Social and Organizational Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. Connie began her career in the Management Development Department at NASA headquarters in D.C. where she coordinated management training programs, conducted survey research and provided survey feedback to senior management.
She and her husband made aliyah to Jerusalem in 1987 where Connie led a team of organizational psychologists at the Israel Police headquarters. Upon returning to New York in 1993, Connie entered the field of childhood education at Shelter Rock Jewish Center. In 2006 Connie joined the Temple Israel family as a pre-K teacher in Beth Hagan as well as a seventh-grade teacher in the religious school. She has also been a part of the Youth House team as a Jewish values and Holocaust education teacher.
The last 5 years Connie was a pre-K and kindergarten Judaic studies teacher and Holiday Programming Coordinator at North Shore Hebrew Academy. Over the years she has taught and developed curriculum for multiple grades.
When asked about her approach to Jewish education Connie says: “I see myself as an educator whose mission is to prepare children to be active members and future leaders of the Jewish community. My aim is to instill in them a love of Judaism and a dedication to Israel. My hope is that my students seek out and feel comfortable in any Jewish community in the future, no matter where they land.
Morah Yve Fouladi has taught at Beth HaGan for the past 12 years, and this year assumed the additional responsibilities of Assistant Director. She is highly regarded by colleagues and parents as a positive, creative, and nurturing educator who seeks to elicit the best in the children and faculty with whom she works.
Under Morah Yve’s leadership, Beth HaGan will continue to be a center of excellence for Judaic and academic learning for children ages 18 months to five years. Not only will our cherished programs such as the annual Torah Science Fair, the Art Fair, and weekly family Shabbat Onegs with Rabbi Stecker and Hazzan Shamash continue, but Morah Yve will also be introducing new and exciting events for you and your children to enjoy.
If you have not yet registered your child for the Fall, please do so quickly as there is only limited availability. If you would like to reach out to Morah Yve, you can contact her either by email (yvefouladi@tign.org) or by calling (516) 482-7800 ext. 1115.
Morel Tomer ish Yemini, a 3rd generation Israeli, is our teen engagement coordinator at the Waxman High School and Youth House. She served with the Israel Defense Forces. Morel received her B.A. in Social Sciences at Open University, studied Innovation and Corporate Social Responsibility (ESG) at Bar Ilan University, as well as Personal Life Coaching. While working first as a Birthright volunteer and then as a staff member, she showed American teens around Israel, explaining Israeli culture, food, history, art, and nightlife. At Temple Israel, she strives to give our students a deeper understanding about their Jewish heritage, Israel, and their Jewish identity, as well as the tools they will need when they leave our largely Jewish community to go to college or work elsewhere.
